The name of the 5,000-square-foot space in the heart of the Faculty of Engineering a nod to the core of an iconic CANDU reactor and the centralized location of the new space on campus.

As St. Patrick’s Day nears, McMaster University is reminding students to celebrate safely and be mindful of their surroundings. 

For the eighth consecutive year, the university is recognized for its commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

The university will monitor the weather throughout the day. 

The new bargaining unit represents Residence Life staff at the university. 

Thursday’s announcement also ends a six-year tuition freeze, and enables McMaster and other universities to better support students’ education, well-being and career opportunities.

Floors 1 through 5 of the Engineering Technology Building will reopen on Thursday, Feb. 5 following a safety assessment. 

The Engineering Technology Building is closed Feb. 3 and Feb. 4 because of flooding on the basement and first floor.

McMaster’s Campus Safety Services will conduct annual testing of the campus Siren Alert and emergency notification systems on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026.
