McMaster University is launching a Teaching and Learning Strategic Planning Process that will draw on the expertise of faculty, students and staff to identify strengths, areas for improvement, and ideas for the future of teaching and learning at McMaster.

Faculty, instructors, students and staff are invited to take part in a strategic planning process that will help shape the future of teaching and learning at McMaster.

The process, now underway, will inform the development of the university’s Teaching and Learning Strategic Plan which will include a renewed vision and clear directions for teaching and learning at McMaster for the next five years.

Led by Kim Dej, acting vice-provost (Faculty), the process will include broad consultation, drawing on the insight and expertise of faculty, instructors, students, staff, and other stakeholders to help identify innovative teaching practices, areas for improvement, and new opportunities to enhance teaching and learning at McMaster.

There will be a number of opportunities for the McMaster community to contribute to the process, including through surveys, focus groups, workshops and other sessions.

“McMaster is known globally for its innovative approaches to teaching and learning,” says Susan Searls Giroux, acting provost and vice-president (Academic). “This process is an exciting opportunity to build on this rich tradition and explore new directions as we look to the future of teaching and learning over the next five years and beyond.”
