Special air quality statement: July 15, 2026

Environment Canada has issued a Special Air Quality Statement due to wildfire smoke in parts of Ontario, including the Hamilton area.

Over the past few weeks, thousands of McMaster University graduates were celebrated at 13 Convocation ceremonies and three graduate celebration events. It’s been an honour to celebrate their incredible achievements and welcome them to the McMaster Alumni community!

McMaster was ranked 18th in the world and fourth in Canada in the 2026 Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Rankings. 

McMaster is also ranked: 

🩺 First in Canada and 7th globally for SDG 3 — Good Health and Well-Being 

🤝 Second in Canada and 16th globally for SDG 1 – No Poverty
