Effective, July 1, 2023, Andy Knights will begin a one-year term as Acting Vice-President, Research. He will step in for Karen Mossman who will be taking an administrative leave to focus on her research.

Knights, a professor of engineering physics, was appointed Associate Vice-President, Research in July 2021, after serving in an acting capacity for some 18 months. Gianni Parise, professor and chair of Kinesiology and former associate dean research and external relations, Faculty of Science, will assume the Associate Vice-President, Research role until June 30, 2024. He will step aside as chair of kinesiology until July 1, 2024.
