McMaster has been recognized as one of the best universities in the world to study life sciences and medicine, jumping four spots to 56th globally, according to the QS World University Rankings by subject.

In addition to the overall category of life sciences and medicine, McMaster also rose in four specific subject areas this year, ranking among the top 35 globally in their respective subject areas:

  • Nursing advanced six spots to rank 24th in the world
  • Kinesiology (sports-related subjects) advanced eight spots to 25th in the world

“This ranking reinforces McMaster’s reputation as a powerhouse in subjects focused on good health and well-being and reflects our drive toward educational excellence,” says McMaster President Susan Tighe.

“I’m proud of our faculty, students and staff for their contributions to making McMaster internationally recognized as a great place to learn and thrive.”

The university has also climbed to 180th in the world for engineering and technology and made gains in arts and humanities and social sciences and management.
