February is Black History Month (BHM) – a time to celebrate the contributions and achievements of Black and African diasporic peoples.
The Black History Month Planning Committee, in partnership with the Equity and Inclusion Office and other partners throughout McMaster, are holding virtual and in-person events throughout the month.

Presenting legendary civil rights activist Minijean Brown-Trickey, former child soldier turned performer/peace activist Emmanuel Jal, and Ugandan dance sensation Suubi Dance in Hamilton for Black History Month.

Diversity Through the Eyes of Stories with Chidiebere Ibe

You are invited to join the Faculty of Health Sciences on February 27th 4:00 – 5:00 pm EDT in welcoming Chidiebere Ibe, Nigerian medical illustrator, medical student and aspiring pediatric neurosurgeon, known for his famous illustration of a Black pregnant woman with a Black fetus. He is a TEDx speaker who has gained global recognition for his work and continues to actively work to expand the frontiers of diversity and inclusion in the health care system.
