Nine McMaster University faculty members are receiving grants to support eight projects that will foster the creation and integration of free, high-quality online textbooks and other digital educational materials.
The McMaster Open Educational Resources (OER) Grant Program is a three-year pilot project jointly supported by the Office of the Provost, McMaster University Library, the Health Sciences Library and the MacPherson Institute. It provides successful applicants with funding to create or adapt and customize open educational resources, enabling new pedagogical approaches and costs savings for students. The program also offers an honorarium for instructors to peer review an existing open textbook.
The 2021-22 grants support six open content creation projects and two adaptation projects.
The following faculty members, and their corresponding projects, will be supported as they build and integrate their OER projects into their teaching in the coming year:
